For your automation program to succeed, automation needs to be recognized as digital labor that is managed by the business – not a piece of software implemented by IT. There’s a difference between the business deploying a digital workforce and IT provisionally managing the security of that workforce.
Still, IT should be involved in your automation program. In fact, failing to establish the right role for IT can cause programs to stall, too. It’s essential to strike the right balance with IT involvement in automation.
